Thanks for your input Steve, also for our qso which was almost my ODX!
Great qso count from IO80 in 6 hours, very well done indeed.
The RSGB Postal Code multiplier is certainly a superb basis for encouraging much greater inter-UK participation and activity which is the foundation of reversing the downward spiral we have been experiencing for so long. I personally have no qualms against East coast stations who concentrate on working continentals. What you win on the roundabout (PPKm) you lose on the swing (PC's=Mults). This particular contest winner may very well be a South East of England based station but to me the most important aspects are that the contest was UK inclusive and to win or become highly placed was based not just on a favourable location but a more thoughtful strategy of points and PC multipliers.
Well done to whoever are the eventual section winners but more important at the end of each event is a feeling of satisfaction for every participant that they've enjoyed the contest.
Don/David/Colin...please put it forward for our UKAC's.

I believe Steve G3UFY has addressed my point very well indeed. (thanks!)

Steve (ZVW) it isn't too much of a problem. Maybe just a wee bit long winded CQ and exchange than used on SSB to the converted.
"CQ Contest, this is GM4CXM calling CQ in the RSGB 2m Contest and looking for any contact for some points please"
or
As above but instead of points...."I really need 2 stations in the Glasgow postal code district for a contact PLEASE"
The latter didn't work :-(
If such calls became the norm....it would be the norm!
