Hymn 24 – Hail the Gathering Sunspot Cycle

Hills of the North, rejoice!
Soon will sound once again,
DX on morse and voice,
on fifteen, twelve and ten;
Though absent long, sunspots are nigh;
They bring DX and victory.

Isles of the southern seas,
Radio waves soon shall spread,
Out to your distant shores;
Bands won’t be always dead.
And when the flux is one-eight-four,
EUs will sound like they’re next door.

Lands of the East, awake!
Soon shall your sons be free,
To work Yanks at daybreak,
Europeans after tea.
On your far hills, the Sun shall pour,
The bounteous Cycle Twenty-Four.

Shores of the utmost West,
These years have not been drole;
You must have thought you lived,
In an RF black hole.
The spots are coming and forthwith,
Europe shall no more be a myth.

Shout, while ye journey home!
DX with just a whip,
>From the car shall be worked,
Thanks to the F2 skip.
All praise the Sun: the open bands
Will bring DX from distant lands!
