You're dead right it does! I learnt to type as I started working in IT  
40 years ago (on a teletype) and unfortunately didn't learn to touch  
type. Now I'm pretty fast, I work at a k/b all day, every day (see I'm  
doing it now!), I use between 4 and 5 fingers and have to look at the  
keyboard quite a bit :-)
