Elitism - If having a sense of pride and satisfaction that one has
mastered the challenge of learning the art, then yes.
Some of us, mainly "G" callsign holders, were fortunate enough to have
been taught both Morse and keyboard skills in the military in a limited
time scale. The vast majority had sticking speeds, whether it was at
10, 12 or even 18 words per minute. With few exceptions the goal of 25
w.p.m. was achieved and some went on to achieve higher speeds.
There again there are those of us who are absolutely useless at the art
of homebrewing but we don't go around accusing people of elitism just
because we are unable to devote either the time or effort to perfecting
particular skills.
Just what introducing RSGB committees into the discussion achieves I'm
not sure.
Get rid of the 'chip' Stuart, it's not worthy of you.

Some of us try and cannot for various reasons but we are no less happy and want to improve are skills given time. To suggest a Superior Licence shows the arrogance of the "G" call signers (well one at least).
