I can see that zero points for non-island to non-island stations is attractive for island stations. In particular, Gs and EIs would have a much better time. By the same token DLs and other mainland Europe stations would have a much worse time - to the extent that they might not want to take part at all. For that reason I think it should be left as it is.

(Above pronouncement from one who has never made even one QSO in IOTA...)

The 160m contests are a different matter all together and I am very sorry that DX to DX contacts will now be allowed.
