Reg et Al,

I don't think it is entirely his problem if you actually think things 
through.  The other station who has given you 5&9 (however misguidedly) 
now does not copy your details and you tune away from him. He then 
deletes the QSO from his log since, as far as he is concerned it is 
incomplete, and sends that serial number to the next station he tries 
to contact. Hence you do not end up in his log and lose the QSO.  I 
reckon this does make it your problem too.
