Chris
Beware acting whilst dizzy.
It appears the "powers that be" have already decided to give this a whirl.
I question their wisdom.
"Others" were never excluded under the old rules, unless they chose to
exclude themselves.
That said, support might be increased through introduction of a mixed mode
category. Perhaps a reasonable argument might have been made for adding one
on a trial basis?
The wise will fashion developments such that loyalty among long term
supporters might reasonably be retained. The foolish will act in haste and
carelessly risk casting existing loyalty to the wind.
A bird in the hand versus two in the bush?
When seeking new friends would you start by offending your old ones?
Evolution is usually preferable to revolution.
Do you remember the revolutionary rule change made to MCC back in the 70s?
Revolution one year, oblivion the next. A sad end to an extremely popular
contest. It didn't take long for the magazine itself to die thereafter.
I have said my piece.
