Whilst I don't support this contest actively, due to an extremely high noise
level; I have an active interest in things Topband !

Just another point. I looked at the results on line for the last 10 years
worth of contests; and have to ask the question - if it's not broke; why fix
it ?

- In 2000 27 UK entrants submitted logs; Last year it was 57 UK entrants
it has fluctuated mostly between 30-45 UK logs; last year was the highest
number of submitted UK logs.
- In 2000 15 Overseas logs were submitted; whereas 54 overseas logs were
submitted
- Winning number of QSO's has trended upwards I think, but the leader makes
200-250 QSO's That's a decent average for a 4 hour "domestic" contest. Seems
that the problem is the last hour , when activity drops, especially if the
band doesn't open well to DX.

If the argument is to get another SSB contest onto the calendar, why not
re-introduce one? The RSGB did run one in the mid-90's I remember (think I
won it once)!

If we are to have a multimode contest; to avoid squabbles about camping out
before a contest and the Power issue, the SSB segment should start at 1850.

Sorry that this is muddled; but so seems to be the rationale for tinkering
with this event.
