[UK-CONTEST] 50MHz UKAC - 23 Feb

That was an interesting evening tonight, for the first time we actually had more operators wanting to play than we had half hour slots so one poor guy ended up with just fifteen minutes at the end.

Conditions seemed very flat this evening but I changed my tactics slightly and spent twenty minutes or so at the start on a S&P session, as a result we equalled our best number of QSOs for a 50MHz UKAC but we were down by one square. I know that 23 QSOs and 7 squares isn't considered a lot compared to some but we're in a very poor condition for 50MHz, even though we're in what might be thought of as a prime location in JO01 by the seaside but it's really awful for six.

There was much heavy QSB tonight, signals going from easily readable to absolutely nothing down in the noise in just a few seconds so a big thanks to those who persevered in working us.

For those interested, you can find our QSO map is here: http://tinyurl.com/ycknd88

Europe seems noticeable by its absence, at the time of writing there are no european stations listed as best DX on the claimed score list.

Hopefully conditions will pick up a bit over the next few months.
