OK, I am one of those sitting in the background, not wanting to get
drawn into this somewhat silly discussion.
Just to say that in Bracknell we have a number of 'country' members -
former Bracknell residents who have moved away, or have other close
contacts with the club and join at a reduced subscription. They are
certainly not 'contest club' operators by the usual definition on this
reflector. They look forward to the CC events as an opportunity to
participate in club affairs when they are far too far away to attend
meetings. We even have an ex-member in Japan who has joked about coming
on in the CC events for us - but at the moment has been unable to get a
decent antenna in his flat in JA land.
Please continue to allow these more distant members to participate in
our club activities in this way. It would be sad to see a distance
limit introduced.
