Hi Nigel,
What operating system is the PC running?. Getting the Sound Card's configured properly when using the MKII is crucial as is the Audio Routing that's setup in the MicroHAM router software. The way sound cards work changed between XP and Vista/W7 and it can be troublesome getting it to work under Vista/W7.
I don't run a K3 myself, but I do use an MKII with N1MM and the biggest problem I've had is getting the audio routing correct under Vista/W7, Is N1MM using the correct sound card's?, Is the MKII sending the audio to the correct port on the rig (Front Mic input, rear input etc). The MKII can change the audio routing depending on current Frequency too so that can also play a part.
Hope that's of some help.

Clive GM3POI and I have been struggling trying to get N1MM
to work with a K3 through a MicroHAM (MicroKeyer II) on both
RTTY and PSK. Is there anyone within the vaste gene pool of
the UK Contest Reflector who has succeeded in getting these
three items to function correctly on these two modes? If so,
we'd like to run through the settings that you are using on
the K3, within MicroHAM and within N1MM!
Many thanks.
