Les, I guess your saying we wouldn't attract CW newcomers, but you would SSB ones (me for one).
Is this the only CW RoPoCo? In that case, I'd go with you, we need to keep at least one, because one day I want to be able to enter and hope other would be the same. But a phone RoPoCo would allow some of us to get into the operation of such a contest, without having to concentrate on both the contest and our Morse.
So if the committee is saying they will stop the only CW RoPoCo, I'd say don't do that, but add a Phone version in.
