Both these contests are popular, with support from the UK and overseas.  It
was thought that more overseas participation could result if non-UK to
non-UK QSOs were allowed to count for points, keeping the UK bonus element.
The February 2011 contest will therefore adopt rules along these lines --

As one who usually supports the 1.8MHz contests - at least when conditions are good enough - I HATE this idea! Whilst I sincerely doubt that many stations on this side of the water will enter regardless of the rules, any contest where USA can work USA becomes purely domestic, at least on 160m. I don't come on to work other NA stations - I want to work Gs (and Ms and 2s). There is no way that I can compete against a western European station - but for me that is not the point.
