I assume there is no intention of making this compulsory David. I view 
it as a useful asset to those who are serious entrants but to some 
extent it is just a novelty. Most of us when doing for example the CC 
events have far too much to concentrate on than watching what the 
competition is doing - and in any case you can get the general trend 
just from the serial numbers you hear people sending.

Making it compulsory is probably in the same league as saying the 
deadline for logs is 2131z on the day of the contest. It ain't going to 
happen!
