[UK-CONTEST] 59 reports on VHF

I take a rather simple view (as usual):-

If I send someone a 5 and 2 report, it's my cue to the other station to give
me his details slowly and clearly more that once. If I send 5 and 9 I am
indicating that he's loud and clear and I do not want to receive all the
information many times with as many different versions of the phonetic
alphabet ...........

I disagree!

VHF contesting also.

As we're talking about 59 reports on VHF, once again I disagree!

>From 1997 to 2008 the Northern Lights contest group (a mix of
MD6V/MD8V/MD0V) won the RSGB 50mhz trophy contest TEN times, with two near
misses. There's also a few concurrent IARU wins in that list as well. Each
contest was complete with real reports given out, so again, I say that
giving out a real report DOES NOT affect the QSO rate.

But then perhaps the whole ethos of VHF operating in general is some what
different to HF...
