Yes, know the scenario only too well. I suppose in this contest as well as any other you're going to do best if you sound louder than the opposition. I used to get quite frustrated running 100w to my less than ideal antenna and an amp definitely adds to the enjoyment now.

I need the nerve/skill to do what CT1ILT did to me - barge in on top to tell the station about to move to 'qsy 3 up'. I remember thinking 'cheeky bugger' at the time but then thought maybe that's the way to do it. He's probably won again too...
