Subject: [UK-CONTEST] Which 70cms beam for contesting?
I'm looking to get a 70cms beam to use for contesting at home but I'm not
really sure what's worth looking at these days. I can't go silly large so
something the size of a 19 element Tonna would probably be ideal. Are the
19 Tonnas still available or is there a reasonable alternative?
I use a 9 element Vargarda at home on 2m which I'm very happy with but
understand the 70cms Vargardas were not very good and anyway are difficult
to get hold of now. I used to run a Jaybeam multibeam many years ago which
was great but weighed about the same as a small elephant!
Any suggestions please? It will be sitting on a stub mast probably three to
four feet above my 2m beam at around 35 feet above the ground.
