[UK-CONTEST] Contest end time - a consensus please.

My view is that 22.30.00 is the end, but I have heard someone say that they
felt 22.30.59 was correct and still call on till then. I've never quite got
that one!
I did once have someone shouting in the distance 'time up chaps' to disturb
the other end of a QSO, when the contest had finished and our contest QSO
was over but we carried on talking about something else (a bit like people
do at the start of contests in reverse). That was just plain stupid and
rude.
What software do people use for UKAC? I have to hope I don't do too well as
I still use a paper log. At the moment, I just enjoy the contest and the
novelty of working *anything* on vhf & up after moving out of a valley.
My timing is taken from a MSF clock and recommend also Dimension4 software
for setting your computers clock, I'm not sure of a Linux version though.
