Hi All.

Regarding all your observations towards the "self spotting" - "cheerleading" in RSGB SSB Field Day 2010.

Firstly the station had no access to internet what so ever from the site, with it being a 2 man team we merely regard having internet on the site since it is a portable operation and a FUN WEEKEND!

Regarding the station in question with so many spots towards us, yes that would be my father, who infact has nothing to do with the team what so ever and hasnt been involvd with our operations for over 5 years, we see over every contest throughout the year self spotting and cheerleading from stations all over the world, not just in the UK, but i daresay that it happens quite a lot here too..
So i am rather perplexed why we should receive a points deduction, when firstly the station involved has nothing to do with us regardless wether he is my father or not! and secondly when we have no internet access in the field how are we meant to know this at the time and advise them to stop etc.
Maybe im just confused and too far behind in the "changes" and "laws" in radio and contesting now.

MM0AOQ/P has been 4th in the Open Section for the past 5 years running and before that we was GM3GG/P, and we are an enthusiastic 2 man team ad quite frankly we relish the challenge every year trying to beat our previous years score and breach into the top 3, and to be quite frank we dont encourage cheerleading, because it is not required, but as i mentioned before, we cannot do nothing about it at the time if we know nothing about it!

just thought i would put my bit in..
and no doubt responses will be made and greatfully received
