I suffered similar QRM in last week's SSB Sprint - pity the busy body
hadn't bothered to check his own timepiece.
He started trying to jam me with a minute to go - I rechecked my PC time
immediately after the real finish, and it was still correct.
Fortunately I managed to get the QSO details with a couple of seconds to
spare - it would have been more like 50 seconds without the know-all -
time for maybe another QSO!
In this instance no call-sign was given.
However I do think all entrants should take the (minimal) trouble to
check their timing before the start.
Maybe these folk who regulary give me numbers like "007" against my
"001" five seconds into a contest think it clever to start 2 minutes early.
As I gather the HFCC now use skimmer-like technology to record the
event, out of time QSOs should be easy to eliminate from adjudication.
It's a pity that such measures are necessary in a HOBBY.
