[UK-CONTEST] 2011 VHF Contest Calendar

I think this is an interesting and imaginative compromise.

It allows everyone to look for QSOs in all directions. I doesn't
un-reasonably dis-advantage the east coast stations - QSOs into Europe will
still count for points, but it does mean that East coast staions need to
make sure that they catch as many of the avaiable UK mults as possible and
so will need to spend more time beaming inland. It's not as if there is a
dearth of UK activity in these events.

Given the difficulty in writing rules to suit everyone all of this time, I
congratulate the committee on finding what looks like a reasonable way
through the marshes.

73,

Andy, G4PIQ

Oh dear, looks like I'll being doing something else on Tuesday nights next
year.

At least there's a low power section, but I can't enter that as I have 2
antennas.

The Dxers section is a bit of a contradiction, as any DX worked outside the
UK won't count for mult's.

Will stations in GD, GJ & GU be disadvantaged by the change. From
Wikipedia:-The Channel Islands and the Isle of Man are dependencies of the
United Kingdom but not part of the UK or of the European Union.
Collectively, the United Kingdom, the Channel Islands and the Isle of Man
are known in UK law as the British Islands. The Republic of Ireland is a
sovereign state formed from the portion of Ireland that seceded from the
United Kingdom in 1922. Although part of the geographical British Isles,[7]
it is no longer a part of the UK.

Sorry Ray I can't agree with your sentiments.
