Agreed.

That said, we all trip up at times.

More importantly - I really do think the period for the Sprints should be
cut : one hour maximum, maybe even 45 minutes. That way it becomes more of
a sprint than a QSO Party.

Subject: [UK-CONTEST] Calling all sprinters

Hello Sprinters,

Enjoyed my first sprint of the year last night even with a delayed start.

Seems though that the recommended exchange format is still not being used by
the majority; this is detailed on the RSGB contest website at -
www.rsgbcc.org/hf/information/sprintQSO.shtml

If used you can tell straight away which station is staying on frequency and
is available to call (and conversely which is moving if you want to drop in
a quick "up 2" etc..) without having to wait for a random "frequency is
your's.." or such like right at the end. You can then call without the
station staying on frequency needing to QRZ or CQ?, providing he/she leaves
a pause, and knowing well beforehand if it's a dupe or not.

73 and happy sprinting,

Stewart Rolfe, GW0ETF
