[UK-CONTEST] Guying a "lugless" Versatower?

We have a 60ft HD versatower here that came with no lugs, I have welded large D 
shackles (vertically) 

to the top tubes of each section and covered welds with galvafroid, as suggested 
already 

without welding to the tower you could weld the shackles to a 1m length of 
treaded bar with 

an OD to fit just inside the tubes, this would not work for the top section and 
beware it might rattle like mad
if you do not make the bar a tight fit.
