Hi,
A pretty average affair from here, just 138 points less than last year, and 8 fewer contacts. Reasonable G activity, but only 20 more contacts than on a UKAC night from an extra 5.5 hours of operating.
Nothing heard from GI/GW or EI, and lower EU participation, apart from the regular French Sunday morning contest. Lots of the regular EU missing, was this due to 10M being wide open again, or have we let the baby out with the bath water?
Lots of rapid QSB on signals, even over short paths. Makes you look like a lid when you give 59 and then the signal disappears into the noise and you have to get repeats!
Nice to work GM4JR by AS, and 4 stations in IO83, a record for me. :0) Already I see from the 38 claimed scores so far, there are half I didn't hear or they didn't hear me.
A change of times to 1000 to 1600 would make this less of a struggle to find stations in the latter stages of the contest, and would bring it into line with the 6 hour sections of larger contests, which seem popular when a full stint is not possible.
Just my personal take on the contest,
