Recognise many of the callsigns and have read the last two days of postings.
Being in London for 25 years and now for 23 years in Lincolnshire, there was
a difference of 27dbs receiver noise on 160m between the locations with
similar good dipoles.
Maybe some are more fortunate than others, where frustrations may lay in not
hearing the weaker stations and annoyance where others can.
I have participated in contests for the RAF Waddington Club (low key-club at
my QTH) for 3 years holding both G0RAF and G3VCA callsigns. My frustration
is the 80m CC CW monthly contests where my 550ft delta loop @ 40ft in the
clear gives me excellent results on the SSB and Data contests, but never
averaging more 50th in CW. I have been on CW for 50 years now and 30 to 35
wpm in bursts is not a problem. Maybe it is that I send and receive
manually; isn't that what the contest should be all about? I was not over
the moon when PSK31 was lumped into the DATA contests, maybe computer CW
should be as well?

Sorry if these points have been well discussed before.
