Thank You all for your comments.
The M7T call is in the current master.dta database and N1MM shows the
following matches in the check window
GM7TFN GM7TUD KM7T *M7T* OM7TJ OM7TQ SM7TZK TM7T
So that works OK but may be too many matches at the end of a contest
for
a fatigued op. Incidentally M7E would only produce 3 other matches all
for SM and M7F only one other match TM7F. Some ideas for anyone else
considering a SCC application.
Ok on G3P? with ops looking for more letters. May be need more English
SCC activity for ops to be fully aware of the English SCC. May be if
there were more available contest for SCC then would be less of a
problem? G3P produced 13 other matches all G3Pxx calls.
May be G3A would be better only produced G3ASG HG3A and OG3A as
matches.
Also one less dash than G3P. Our local club uses G3V - not a good idea
too many G3Vxx still alive! Give it another 30 years or so...
Out of interest. Don G3BJ does very well there is only one match and
that is his call. Now how can I get one of those 2 letter calls....
Pity
I did not keep up with the family of a SK local G8TK that would be a
good one no matches at all.
For those of you who got M6T and M7T muddled on the number then I
suggest some more time with Morse Runner may be advisable as if cannot
differentiate 6 and 7 in a call then how many serial numbers are being
received in error? Not so much a problem in this zone exchange contest.
One guy even asked for a zone repeat after getting my call right first
time - must be logging on paper.
I take the point about RUN yes if in doubt over the call the op can
pause to hear it again without asking for a repeat. We have all done
it.
I did 2 hours at the end of the contest and S&P only. I made 173 QSOs
in
that time. I wonder if using a SCC rather than my normal call made any
difference. I will never know.
