There are two key reasons why Bolton has scored so well. The primary one is
that they put out more stations than anyone else. 10 in low power and 11 in
restricted. Cray Valley are second with 7 stations. It is an activity
contest after all!
The other reason is location. In IO83 they have access to more multipliers
than most, especially southern stations. This is shown in the results, Cray
Valley averaged 4 mults in the restricted section, Bolton averaged 8 in the
restricted and 4 in the low power. The M5 rule has widened the gap slightly
but the end result would have been similar under the old rules!!
