Well done for taking the initiative and offering your services. It's a pity
you're tied up next weekend but no doubt there will be other opportunities.

I decided to email a couple of local amateurs who quite frequently come on
from home on VHF, but have not operated with our group before. They were
chosen because they sounded competent and keen. I suggested they could come
along for any amount of time they like, to operate or not depending if they
felt comfortable with the gear, or just to help with assembly or packing up.

I haven't even had a reply ................ Hard work or what ?

if anyone needs a guest operator apart from VHFNFD (out with FBB/P), I'd 
be interested..., not sure my CW is fast enough but can keep up with 
most on phone...
