[UK-CONTEST] 144MHz UKAC last night

I wonder how people found the first 144MHz UKAC last night under the new multiplier rules?

We had a much better evening than we expected, conditions seemed up a bit and activity seemed high although it was quite a shock to be told that we were someone's first QSO into JO01 square almost an hour in. 

We normally get an S4 noise level when beaming between 300 and 330 degrees which was absent last night and so that helped. 

The claimed scores so far are showing a much closer gap between them than there has been in the past. 

I know it's early with only one contest gone but has last night changed or reinforced opinions on the M5 multiplier rule change?
