Just to add to Dave's comments about cable ties and UV; stainless steel ties
are available and, although more expensive that nylon, these will last
indefinitely. From a practical perspective, a proper tensioning tool for SS
wraps is useful for tightening the wraps to the desired degree, however,
these don't come cheap!
