"why oh why do people have to send
me back the number I sent THEM ?
Particularly in marginal conditions (like last night) the last thing I need
on my screen is a repeat of MY number  ...grrr"

I'm not one who does this personally but it does not bother me.

My thinking is that if conditions are marginal both ways, it may not be a bad idea to confirm exchanges so that points are not lost.

Put another way, how many milliseconds does it take to receive your own number back to be certain of the point?
