[UK-CONTEST] Ending time

Hi Y'all.
Just got through reading all the input on this touchy subject! I can see now
why it causes flames
and I must have missed the previous discussion on this, so apologies for raising
it yet again. There
seems to be two views:
1 Strict adherence to the NO sending of useful information AFTER 2130.00 So,
despite having
started a QSO at, say 2129.30, getting some QRM, and asking for repeats, ( or
listening to long
macros! ), finishing off the contact just over the limit is not allowed. Fair
enough.
2 An allowance of this situation stating that the QSO was STARTED within the
time.
I must admit that I still favour the latter, otherwise the rules might just as
well say the contest will
finish at 2129.00. However, I am not that bothered, but just wanted
clarification! Chill lads, it is
just a hobby! I smile at those fanatics who moan about sending an extra
"period" or "73" during
a data contest.....
However, to pick some more nits::::::::::::::::
We all know that you have to be on the band by lunchtime if you wish to
"reserve" your frequency,
especially in the awful SSB mess. Would it be possible to pre-book a channel
please? It would really
save me time, and also guarantee me a nice clean frequency. I would like 3648
for the SSB section.
Pondering on that for a second, thinking about comparing this to an F1 race,
it is tantamount to saying
to the big boys "You can warm your engines and go over the start line at 150mph
whilst all the others
have to wait until the lights change before moving.
Flak jacket and hard hat in place!!!!! Good fun though eh?

Roger
I recall that this one was flogged to death a while back.
To re-iterate the clarification given at that time, the RSGB CC confirmed that a
QSO had to be *completed* (and logged) before the end of the contest. So (using
your example) the last logged time for a QSO would be 21.29
