Definitely mistaken.

It was always easier when all you had to say was cq from Yankeee Quebec than the much longer IO86.  Of course mostly I don't have this problem, generally folks know which way GM is,   (its off the back of the beam).

If I was going to gripe about something it would be the people who do "CQ CQ CQ CQ, CQ CQ CQ CQ <fades into the noise>< mumble mode on> <callsign once>  CQ CQ CQ CQ......."

and the ones who can't get their heads around how to give a contest exchange in correct order.  "you're 5&5, locator is io8xxx your number is 123"....
