Re the June CW 80mCC there is a minor problem with the adjudication
involving G0ORH - there are no genuine Not in Log errors associated with
this log. The fault, I fear, is mine.
Ken logged throughout in BST instead of GMT. He also intended to submit a
checklog, something I discovered only on reading his soapbox comments,
though he entered in the 'LOW' section rather than the 'CHECKLOG' of the
Robot.
I had intended to apply a fixed penalty of 10% for the time logging error
and applied a bulk -60min shift to his QSO timings in order to validate
their checking against other entrants. On reading his comments, I removed
his log from the LOW section and placed it in the CHECKLOG section, but
failed to re-apply the time-shift correctly. As a result, a block of his
later QSOs thus fell outside the checking time limits and stations who
worked him then have been incorrectly reported as Not in Log.
It's an unfortunate slip and I apologise for it. I appreciate that things
are tight at the top in this event but unless anyone can convince me that
the loss of their single QSO directly costs them or their club an award I
don't plan to revisit the adjudication - it's just too time-consuming.
Also, this has been such a palaver that any future entries logged in BST or
on the wrong day will just have to be completely excluded.
Finally, don't forget that there is a facility for entrants to email queries
regarding their UBNs direct to the adjudicator, who may not always be
monitoring UK-Contesting.
