The auto message is definitely wrong.

Clive - your vote of confidence is welcome and yes, most of the time, we do 
know what is going on.

Strangely, the same file that produces the Contest Calendar on the website 
(which is correct) also prompts the reminder mails. Obviously, we cannot 
trust a computer to get it right! We'll investigate.
