Ah, thanks Chris, for a non-emotive response.
Your reason 1; "phase shift keying" is enough on its own for us to lobby to
have PSK removed from CC80.
Actually, why is PSK so popular on 20m for rag-chewing as there must be much
phase distortion on any sky-wave propagation.

Two reasons I think Neil - firstly the name 'Phase Shift Keying' - any mode
which is prone to phase changes during propagation - which occur quite often
on 80m - is by definition useless, especially in evening contests.
Secondly, the whole culture of PSK day-to-day QSOs is completely opposite to
the philosophy of contesters - a mish-mash of time-wasting macros and
unwanted information.
