Feel like I'm breaking-in on this one, but anyway...
Ask yourself why the rules limit the number of receivers at all? The only
reason I can think of was to stop multiple Rx spotting setups.
Some time back Granta CG used a private DX Cluster in SSBFD Restricted
section to get around the number of receivers limit, by having a spotting
station comprising multiple receivers and operators, all searching out Q's
to feed over packet to the main station. In our view within the rules. The
rules got changed as a result of this to disallow private DXClusters. Fair
enough, but haven't we got the same situation here?
Clearly the rules need updating, but if future rules intend to allow this
sort of technology the use of private DXClusters should also be allowed.
