Maybe I shouldn't rise to the bait but as one of G4ZAP's ops I can't let that one go by!

By all means congratulate yourself on the no of mults but don't accuse us of cheating without checking the facts, it could be a case for libel, HI.

Thanks Bob for making the defence and (whilst I'm in favour of M5 mults) I totally agree with his comments.

I think I should point out that whilst we are in East Anglia, operating from near Haverhill we are not near the coast... .and if you look back far enough you will see that we have also won this contest from IO93 not too many years ago. (We also choose to do the QRP's from there to maximise our multiplier chances but have been beaten by stations working E's that we have missed). We have to beam 360 degrees to achieve the number of mults that we do, not just East and have evolved an aerial system that allows us to do so - this is probably why we were the only station to be called by the GJ because we had the RF going in the right direction at the right time, not by skullduggery.

Having said the above I think a look at the 6M scores for last weekend might suggest that we put in a reasonable score from the west coast as GW4Z by working a good number of multipliers but only using a single aerial system that we could turn quickly to compensate.

Re GJ QSO if you look closely it doesn't look like he necessarily got the info correct and not even obvious he got our call correct - you will notice he entered a log as well so the adjudicators have all the info!

All (well mostly) tongue in cheek so please don't take offence - and I haven't consulted the rest of our team either......

Regards
Tony G4NBS
