Matt,

Interesting report, being further South and with a multiple antenna
system you managed to keep up a better QSO rate than we managed. One
comment;

experience, netting us a steady

first QSO to GJ on 50MHz CW.

The reason we had to work you again on phone on Sunday was that you were
sending the report and serial numbers so fast - probably automatically,
that we weren't confident we had copied it correctly and thought we
ought to confirm it. Being VHF operators migrating down to six, 20 wpm
is about our limit Hi.

This year we decided to venture across the country and travel light with
only one antenna system. We completely missed the opening to W on
Saturday, mainly because we were relying on the local cell site to
connect us to the DX cluster and unfortunately we found it had lost its
data capability and only having one antenna we didn't swing it around
enough. The opening on Sunday morning was good though, we worked about
35 Ws from 1200 to 1240 UTC.

We also found quiet a high electrical noise level on the site which was
surprising as it was quite remote. We decided in the end it must have
been coming from over head power distribution in the village we could
see below us several miles away. So apologies to those stations we knew
that were calling us but we couldn't quite make out.
