Clive's mention of a 'pipe line' is interesting, with few exceptions signals on 10m here were stronger on an A3 at 24' than a TH7 at 50' The actual 'RF height' here is ponderable as the ground drops away to the West  a couple of hundred feet within about 50' of the tower base.

One presumes the reflective F 'path' was indeed favouring different latitudes  , as is the case, but being more pronounced with the burgeoning MUF level. A bit late in the winter Es season maybe, but could that have been effecting propagation too?

All fascinating stuff.
