Yes John.
These things also have an annoying habit of changing course which can help or hinder a contact.
The time delay aspect was something I realised between the virtual radars with Planefinder.net producing the most accurate feedback based upon visual local results I could see from the house. This was both low level flights in/out of Glasgow and high level North American traffic.
Every second makes a big difference of position with the speed these birds can fly so that is why you should always start calling (random or schedule) before the aircraft reaches the mid-point or circle as indicated on the display.
