Hello all

Sorry to disagree, but pop rivets and self-tappers are a bad idea - anything 
that provides a point of weakness for the tubing i.e. a hole, should be 
avoided.

I've had an 80m vertical here with a 7m fibreglass top section for several 
years - decided not to use jubilee clips and opted for loads of PVC tape 
above, below and across each join - with two wires taped externally with 
some slack to avoid wire breakage when the fibreglass pole flexes.
