Thanks for all the information. Convinces me to stay with metal poles 
for home QTH. The 12m pole made up of 2 by 6m 2inch is not guyed at all 
and just clamped onto a shed at the bottom. It was put up single handed 
with no trouble. It holds up my second antenna for 20/15/10, which is a 
coupled resonator wire dipole fed with RG213 coax plus a large ferrite 
balun at the top of the mast.
