Hi Chris,
The URL below doesn't include the 432 Trophy. Participating is fine,
entering is not. Other "overlapping" contests are available.
I'll repeat my last line of previous post. "It's all a bit of a waste on
VHF/UHF. The QSO rates don't warrant any perceived advantage you'd get with
a special call." That's why SCC's have been relatively rare on VHF/UHF in
the past. That doesn't take away your choice to use your SCC, you're just
limited in what contests you can enter. In fact it can be a disadvantage
under poor signal conditions, as the other end of the QSO tries to get
letters that aren't there.
With the recent upsurge in SCC's, and from here I'm speculating BTW, I'd say
most have been taken up by HF contesters. With the growth of the VHF/UHF
UKAC's, a lot of stations are trying out these bands now and will want to
use their SCC's. I'm also assuming this overlapping situation doesn't occur
in HF contests, I've no experience of HF operating/contesting.
