I noticed this effect last month as well operating in France. Both months
the lower part was packed and the upper part deserted. Also, for the first
half hour the band is packed but for the last half hour it quietens down
and all I can find are stations I have worked already. It was particularly
bad this month.
Last month 40 in the first hour, 13 in the last half. This month 43 in the
first hour and 10 in the last half. This means slower stations just catch
up in the last half hour.
I do like this format though it evens things up a bit for us with little
antennas ( doublet at 8m)
