This must be the best source of ideas to solve my current problem. I am
attempting to commission a 2m transverter (Elecraft XV144) along with a
Kenwood TS590S. The combo employs a 28 MHz IF. Given the recent highs on
28 MHZ, I have discovered enormous signal levels on 10m breaking through
- even though the transverter antenna input is terminated in a 50 ohm
dummy load and the IF in/out leads are short and well connected and the
PTT leads are disconnected. I suspect that the culprit is the dc power
cable to the transverter which is over a metre long and fresh out of box
ie no chokes on it. Any experiences and recommendations, please. 73
