For the data contesters just a reminder that today 1700z marks the start of the 4 hour 75 Baud BARTG RTTY contest. Remember contest entries can be used to qualify for many of the BARTG certificates (see www.BARTG.org.uk for details)

Then Next weekend its 48 hours of CQWW RTTY contesting at normal baud rate.

AND just when the contest below is running the RSGB 10/15m contest coincides with at least part of the Oceania contest, just as 10m seems to be coming to a peak.... 3 new countries worked just yesterday....

>
> Hi everyone
>
> The 2011 Oceania DX contest is now only 2 weeks away, with the Phone SSB
> section on the first weekend in October and the CW section on the second
> weekend. This is a great opportunity to work a lot of DX stations in the
> Oceania area, as well as giving your station a test drive for the new DX
> contest season and the big CQ WW contest events later in the year.
>
> The aim of the contest is to promote HF contacts with stations in the
> Oceania region. Oceania stations can work other Oceania and non-Oceania
> stations. Non-Oceania stations can only work Oceania stations.
>
> We are expecting a good turn out from VK, ZL and YB stations, as well as
> stations from some of the rarer South Pacific entities. In particular, the
> Oceania Amateur Radio DX Group which sponsors two of the contest plaques, is
> undertaking a major DXpedition to Vanuatu and will be active with the
> callsign YJ0VK in both the Phone and CW sections – see
> http://yj0vk.odxg.org/ for more information.
>
> The 2011 contest is also recognised as a qualifying event for Oceania
> contesters that are interested in seeking selection for the next World
> Radiosport Team Championship (WRTC) in 2014. See
> http://wrtc2014.org/team-selection/ for more information about the WRTC and
> team selection.
