Hi Bob et al

Just my 50p worth of comments on this interesting topic. I have a
conventional 2.6kVA pertrol generator, with only a crude 'mechanical
feedback' system of regulation on the Briggs and Stratton engine. It works
well, but is only capable of powering a single radio and valve amp to about
500W o/p.
It's good feature is the large (15L) fuel tank which easily lasts 24 hours
so eliminates the fueling when running (which is perfectly safe if done with
sensible precautions).

So - whatever model or type of genny you buy, try to get the version (if it
exists) with the larger fuel tank

Your choice is a difficult one - if you buy a cheap genny it may be
unreliable and need replaced after a year or two - if you buy a big genny to
cope with future expansion of the station, it may be heavy to lug around.
There are some very nice 8kVA to 10kVA silenced diesel gennies out there, if
your team has the £££.
