A first attempt at this contest for me and I liked the way it shoe-horned with the PACC to give a bit more action, it would have been very quiet without them!
160m for me involves lashing up some form of antenna so was reasonably satisfied with my 45 minutes of work to add 25m 'pigtails' onto each end of my 30m long doublet. Only about 9m at the centre with the extras sloping down to ground at about 120 deg in the horizontal plane. Certainly less than ideal but good enough for VE1ZZ to call me at midnight though I'm under no illusions about him doing most of the work at his end. Most UK calls were familiar and the 'working old friends' aspect in this type of cw contest is always nice, but we could do with a few 'new friends' else it's going to get awfully quiet eventually!
Do folk submit their logs to the PACC guys too for checking? I tried but it got rejected with 'wrong format for every QSO' though I hadn't changed the header to a 'checklog' category which may be the reason.
