I have what is effectively a free-standing (as in not fixed to a wall) 60' Tennamast (at our Scout hut where I normally play UKAC). It is guyed with 4 Kevlar guys at the top of the crank up section. With a rotator, tri-beam and 6 ele 2m beam on a stub mast, so when cranked up its approx 65' with the guys at 60'
when down, it's a 30' vertical with the stub mast on top, mostly protected by the scout building and it's support, that is a piece of U section, 6' down in 1.5 tons of concrete and 8' standing free
Wind here is currently ~ 10 mph with gusts of 15 - those of you with tower experience, do you think this is a bit to strong to crank the mast up - it's either up or not, no half way point.
